Important Member Information on New Safety Measures

Thursday, June 11, 2020

Move by BJC reopens June 18. Here’s what our members can expect as they return:

  • The doors to the 4220 Duncan Building will remain locked during the coming months; you will need your building access card to access Move.

  • We will require daily registration for general usage of the facility, as new capacity guidelines require us to operate the gym in blocks of time.

    • Follow these steps to register for gym access:

    1. Visit https://www.movebybjc.org/Class-Schedule

    2. Select your desired gym access time and click “Sign Up”

    3. Log in to your account, select your name and then click “Register”

    • To unregister for a gym access time:

    1. Login to your Member Portal

    2. Select “Unregister” next to the corresponding gym access time

    • What you need to know about your registration:

      • Registration will open 48 hours prior to the start time.

      • Please do not register for more than one time slot per day.

      • Please do not arrive prior to your registered gym access time.

      • If you arrive after the time you signed up for, your end time will not change.

      • If your desired time is full, you have the option to add your name to the waitlist and you'll be notified if space becomes available.

      • NO-SHOW POLICY: If you are unable to make your registered time please be sure to unregister prior to your start time to avoid being charged a $3 no-show fee.

  • You will be screened prior to entering the facility, which may include fever checks with a no-touch thermometer. We will also confirm your registration at this time.

    • To speed up this process, you can complete your screening prior to arrival and present a screenshot:

  • All members are required to wear a facial covering during the entirety of their visit.

  • The portion of our locker room dedicated to locker storage, locker rental and showering facilities will not be accessible. Please bring only what you need to exercise (keys, phone, towel, water bottle), as storage for bags, purses or other personal items will not be available.

  • Strict social distancing standards will be in place on the workout floor.

  • Water fountains will not be operational, but bottle fillers are available.

  • You must have a credit card on file to purchase items in our pro shop (drinks, supplements, Move apparel).

Information Regarding Classes and Other Services
  • Our group exercise studios will not be operational for traditional group exercise classes; we will host virtual “group” exercise classes without a live instructor. Furthermore, a “group” may only consist of a single individual and others in a “home group”, i.e. those who have maintained a living space together throughout this pandemic period. Reservations must be made to participate in a class, and thorough cleaning of the studio will take place before and after each class.

  • Traditional group exercise classes, led by a live instructor, will not be offered until our team has reviewed and incorporated City of St. Louis safety standards.

  • All other services including personal training, massage therapy, assisted stretch and LesMills Virtual will be available June 18. These services will be provided in strict accordance with current City of St. Louis and CDC guidelines.
